Celebrating 75 Years of Service on the Mountain
More than 110 members, friends, family, community partners, and Lions leaders joined us for an evening of fellowship, reflection, and celebration. We were honored to welcome Zone and District Officers, Past Presidents, and many longtime supporters who have helped shape our club’s legacy since its founding in 1951.
The evening was filled with great food, wonderful stories, historical displays, and memories spanning generations of service. Guests enjoyed a look back at the people, projects, and traditions that have made the Mt. Hood Lions Club a cornerstone of our community for three-quarters of a century.
A celebration of this scale only happens because of the dedication of many volunteers. Special thanks to:
- Lion Craig Calvert and his kitchen crew for preparing an outstanding dinner.
- Lion Milt Fox II for assembling historical photos, creating the Past Presidents display, and sharing the story of our club’s rich history.
- Lion Shawn Graybeal for designing our commemorative 75th Anniversary pin, and Lions Shawn and Kristin Graybeal for generously donating 100 pins.
- Lions Candice Kelly and Kristin Graybeal for designing and producing the event programs.
- Lions Marlyne Casley, Candice Kelly, and decorating volunteers for transforming the clubhouse for the occasion.
- Susan Exley for the delicious brownies.
- Jolene Desart for coordinating beverages.
- Ryan Peloquin for providing music and entertainment throughout the evening.
- Daryl Moistner for creating an incredible video celebrating our club’s history and impact on the community.
Most importantly, this event was a celebration of every Lion who has served over the past 75 years. From those who founded the club in 1951 to our newest members today, each has contributed to building a stronger, more connected, and more compassionate mountain community.
The evening concluded with a special recognition of three Lions whose dedication and service have left a lasting mark on the Mt. Hood Lions Club. Congratulations to Lion Milt Fox II, Lion Craig Calvert, and Lion Dan Wolf on receiving Lifetime Membership Awards. Their commitment, leadership, and countless volunteer hours embody the very best of Lionism.
As we look ahead to the next 75 years, we remain committed to our mission of serving others, supporting our community, and carrying forward the legacy built by generations of Lions before us.
